Judd Is a Hollywood Hero

Ashley Judd was named a Hollywood Hero for her tireless charity work at astar-studded ceremony on Tuesday (10Nov09).

Morgan Freeman, Debra Messing and Mandy Moore turned out for the annualUsa Today Hollywood Hero Awards in Los Angeles, with Judd receiving the night's highest honor.

The Double Jeopardy star has served as a Global Ambassador for Population Services International's YouthAids program since 2002, helping the organization's Hiv education and prevention drive.

And the actress admits she is honored to be able to help out.

Judd says, "I'm just the front woman. I was just lucky that this wonderful organization was put in my lap and I had the opportunity to be involved with them".

Previous recipients of the award include sports star Magic Johnson and actress Geena Davis.
