Hayden Panettiere's father charged with battery

Actress Hayden Panettiere's father has been charged with misdemeanour battery after allegedly assaulting his wife last month.Alan Panettiere was taken into custody in West Hollywood early on 11 August after allegedly attacking his wife Leslie at a party.Both insisted the arrest was all a big misunderstanding, but Los Angeles authorities beg to differ - Panettiere will be arraigned next month in Beverly Hills. He faces a year in county jail if convicted.
