Philip Seymour Hoffman is rumoured to have been offered the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games; Catching Fire.
The role of Heavensbee is quite a small one in the second movie but is a much bigger part in the final instalment of the franchise and Deadline have heard that Hoffman has been approached.
Whether he has accepted is not yet known.
Filming on Catching Fire is set to get underway in November with Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth reprising the roles of Katniss, Peeta and Gale.
Francis Lawrence has taken over the director's chair from Gary Ross and now the new characters from the second book are being cast.
Finnick Odair is the biggest of the new characters and while the likes of Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer have both been linked to the role who will play Finnick is not yet known.
The Hunger Games has enjoyed huge box office success so far this summer and the movie has taken in excess of $648 million worldwide.
