Rocker Ted Nugent was forced to apologize to a U.S. news reporter and TV producer on Friday (04May12) after losing his temper during an interview and making vulgar comments about oral sex following a heated discussion about his conservative political views.
The outspoken country star is a staunch supporter of America's Republican Party and proved his dedication to the cause during a National Rifle Association rally in Missouri last month (Apr12), when he suggested that fellow Republicans should "ride into that battlefield (election) and chop their (Democrats) heads off in November" to help his candidate Mitt Romney defeat incumbent President Barack Obama.
You know what that is? That's extreme! I'm an extremely loving, passionate man and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness,
His rant caused a stir in the headlines and even prompted a quizzing by Secret Service agents, who were told that Nugent meant no real harm by his remarks.
But the singer was left fuming during an interview with CBS network's Jeff Glor, who confronted Nugent about his political standing, claiming he was in no way a "moderate" conservative.
The line of questioning prompted Nugent to explode and defend his reputation, insisting he's a "damned nice guy" who does plenty for charity.
He raged, "If you examine how I conduct myself, I don't think a day goes by in my life for many, many years now, that we don't do charity work for children. "I offer you this call me when you sit down across from someone who has more families with dying little boys and girls who get a call to take them on their last fishing trip in life.
Call me when you meet someone who does that more than I do! Because that's really moderate.
You know what that is? That's extreme! I'm an extremely loving, passionate man and people who investigate me honestly, without the baggage of political correctness, as certain the conclusion that I'm a damned nice guy..".
But Nugent went too far when he propositioned Glor and his female producer, Molly Kordares, adding "If you can find a screening process more powerful than that, I'll suck your d**k. Or I'll f**k you (Kordares). How'sthat sound?"
However, Nugent was made to say sorry for his rude comments after a stern word from his wife, who had been watching the interview from the sidelines.
