Whitney Houston Laid to Rest

Whitney Houston was laid to rest in her native New Jersey on Sunday (19Feb12).

The I Will Always Love You legend was remembered during a private memorial service in Newark on Saturday (18Feb12) and hundreds of family members and friends showed up to pay their respects, among them Houston's 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina, mother Cissy, music producer Clive Davis, cousin Dionne Warwick, actor Kevin Costner, and singers Stevie Wonder and Alicia Keys, who both performed at the service.

On Sunday a small group of grieving relatives gathered at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield to say their last goodbyes as Houston's casket was carried from a golden hearse to her final resting place.

The singer was buried alongside her father, John Russell Houston, Jr.

The music icon was found dead in her Los Angeles hotel room bathtub last Saturday (11Feb12), aged 48.

A cause of death has yet to be determined,but Los Angeles police officials have ruled out foul play.
