Britain's Duchess of York has jetted off on a family skiing holiday with Prince Andrew and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie amid fears she could be arrested by Turkish authorities.

Britain's Duchess of York has jetted off on a family skiing holiday amid fears she could be arrested by Turkish authorities.

Sarah Ferguson - the ex-wife of Prince Andrew and mother of Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie - could face up to 22 years in prison after being charged over a 2008 documentary in which she took part in an undercover investigation into the plight of children in state-run orphanages.

However, after previously claiming to be "too scared" to leave the country amid fears she could be arrested for going "against the law in acquiring footage and violating privacy" of five children, the royal has jetted off on an all-expenses paid holiday with her ex-husband and daughters.

The 52-year-old former royal - who divorced Prince Andrew 15 years ago - will spend a week in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier as part of a holiday that coincides with the prince's 52nd birthday.

A spokesperson for the duchess told the Daily Mail newspaper: "The duchess is on her annual family holiday to celebrate the duke's birthday. This is her first overseas trip this year away from her working commitments.

"There is no issue about her travelling. However, she is working to resolve the Turkish issue with the relevant authorities."

Sarah - who has cancelled at least one business trip to the US in the wake of the scandal - has reportedly been informed the Turkish authorities will not be able to extradite her so she thought there would be "no reason" for her not to join in the family holiday.

A source added: "The duke's birthday is an important annual family occasion which she would not break unless there was a very good reason.

"She has been told there is no issue with her travelling as the Turkish authorities cannot extradite her, so there is no reason for her not to go."
