February 22, 2010 Snowy (England) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful I had rock bottom expectations when a friend rented this movie since I've never been a Jessica Simpson fan and her last few movies have been awful on every level, but I actually thought it was pretty good for what it is, which is basically totally predictable absolute fluff. Remember to leave any reality or knowledge of the US Army at the door and you might have an entertaining 90 minutes. Jessica Simpson works it as "Megan Valentine" a Jessica Simpson-esque starlet who enlists in the US Army after a night where everything goes wrong for her and is stunned to find out the army isn't all girl power and cute uniforms and the brass won't let her go because having a celebrity is good for recruitment. What follows is very predictable but still fun. Simpson does actually have comedic chops and the movie allows her to show them off. But the one who really shines is Cheri Oteri as the former Sargent looking to regain her rank after quitting the army for a guy who then cheated. It's also nice to see Steve Guttenberg and also Keiko Agena from Gilmore Girls again.
