Manchester United are reported to b e tracking Villareal midfielder Bruno Soriano
Twenty seven year old Soriano has been impressive this season which has alerted the Red Devils who failed to agree a deal with Wesley Schnieder during the close season.
According to sources in Spain United scouts have been checking the player out with the intention of trying to prize him away from the Spanish side in the January window.
Soriano came through the clubs yo academy and they are said to be reluctant to let a player they see as key to their team go. Soriano is still seen as developing having recently receiving a call up to the Spain national side.
The added attraction for United is the left footed player can also fill in at left back, another position the club has recently lost the services of a vastly experienced player Gary Neville.
United would expect to offer around £8 million for the player.
Meanwhile Everton are targeting a move to take out of favour Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson on loan in January.
Moyes who has had no budget to spend on players this season is hoping that he can secure Gibson following the breakdown of a proposed move to the Stadium of Light in the summer with the Republic of Ireland international failing to agree personal terms and stuck on at Old Trafford.
The 23 year-old has found his first team chances diminish as the clubs youngsters continue to grow in the Premier League champions first team and Gibson could be open to the move to Everton to secure regular first team football.
