Matthew Wolfenden wants to perform the headbanger on 'Dancing on Ice'.
The 'Emmerdale' actor is keen to include the daredevil move - which would see him swing his professional partner Nina Ulanov around in a circle by her ankles with her head coming dangerously close to the ice - so he can get a competitive edge over his rivals.
However, the stunt is deemed so dangerous that normally only professional males are allowed to perform it, with actor Sam Attwater being the only non-professional to have attempted it before.
A show insider told the Daily Star newspaper: "Matthew is confident he can pull it off, too. It's not something they will try this week but they are quietly planning it."
Matthew thinks he needs to up his game in a bid to beat his nearest rival Jorgie Porter, who has already performed the headbanger with her pro partner Matt Evers.
The actor - who was a promising gymnast before a back injury ended his career at just 17 years old - recently admitted winning the show would be as good as taking home an Olympic gold medal.
He said: "I'd have loved to have been in the Olympics but it would be as good as winning an Olympic gold if I won 'Dancing On Ice'!
"People might not be as impressed but it would mean a lot to me. I'm enjoying the show so much, I've learned a new skill.
"I'm still competitive - I keep fit and do triathalons."
