Nicola Roberts says filming 'Styled To Rock' was emotional.
The Girls Aloud singer - who joins Rihanna, designer Henry Holland and stylist Lysa Cooper in the search for the next big fashion stylist - has revealed she was in floods of tears on the set of Sky Living's new reality show because she cared about the contestants too much.
Nicola told LOOK magazine: "I found it so difficult. I couldn't deal with what I was doing to them.
"They were in this exciting world and then had to leave the show and go back to their old lives.
"There was one week where I felt I couldn't go through with the elimination because it felt so wrong."
The 'Biology' singer says her own stressful experience on singing competition 'Popstars The Rivals' in 2002 made the role of judge all the more of an emotional rollercoaster.
She explained: "Because it's happened to me, I felt very close to them in ways that were different to Henry and Lysa."
"You see how much it means to them and you get to know them so well. There were times when I broke down."
In spite of the tears, the stylish 22-year-old singer was thrilled to work with R&B superstar Rihanna and says the mentors all became close on set.
Nicola gushed: "It was fantastic. She couldn't have been more lovely, she's a real laugh. We all hit it off and had so much fun."
