Restaurant sets 5k calorie pancake challenge

''We're expecting lots of unfinished plates, but are hopeful that someone out there will be able to hack our stack and be one of the first to complete it.''

A British-based restaurant has set a 5,000-calorie pancake challenge to mark Shrove Tuesday (12.02.13).

The Diner, which is based in London, challenges customers to consume its pancake stack - which is made up of 15 of the calorific treats made out of 16 eggs, 250 grams of butter, a kilogram of flour and 100 grams of sugar - in 30 minutes to win a free meal for two.

However, if the customer fails to complete the challenge then they will be forced to pay the £20 bill.

A spokesman for Good Life Diner Group said: ''We're confident our pancake stack is the biggest in London.
