Gene Wilder has slammed film bosses for remaking 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' - saying they are just cashing in on the original. The 71-year-old actor, who starred as the eccentric confectionary maker in the original version of the film, 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', has confessed he doesn't understand why they thought it necessary to do a remakeWilder said: "It's all about money It's just some people sitting around thinking, 'How can we make some more money?' Why else would you remake 'Willy Wonka'? I don't see the point of going back and doing it all over again"The new version, which will see Hollywood heartthrob Johnny Depp take over the much-loved role, is scheduled for release this summerBut the star says he isn't pointing his anger at the cast of the new movie, adding: "I like Johnny Depp, and I appreciate that he has said on record that my shoes would be hard to fill"But I don't know how it will all turn outRight now, the only thing that does take some of the edge off this for me is that Willy Wonka's name isn't in the title"
