Jeremy Irons was victimised by "older men" who attempted to grope him when he was young, but he stood his ground and told them to "get lost".
The Lolita star made the revelation in a candid interview with Britain's The Times newspaper, after he was asked about previous comments he had made concerning women who deal with sexual harassment.
In 2011, Irons reportedly told Radio Times, "If a man puts his hand on a woman's bottom, any woman worth her salt can deal with it".
Irons now insists he was misquoted and he was actually trying to suggest women shouldn't put up with such behaviour, and he goes on to reveal he has fallen victim to similar abuse in the past.
He says, "I don't think I said 'bottom' but of course I was misquoted - f**king Radio Times. Basically I said that any self-respecting woman would tell you to f**k off (if she objected).
"I think we're very robust as human beings. I had people when I was young trying to feel me up. Older men. I just told them to get lost".
