Fashion mogul Vivienne Westwood led a group of anti-fracking protesters through the streets of central London on Wednesday.
The designer marched from her headquarters in Battersea, south-west London into the exclusive Knightsbridge neighbourhood with a group of 180 demonstrators to protest against the controversial gas-extraction method.
The rally was held on the same day government officials and the heads of UK energy companies were attending the Shale Gas Forum to discuss opportunities for gas drilling nationwide.
At the protest, Westwood said, "The fight against fracking is the most important battle the British people will ever fight. It is the first battle in the war against climate change, and we will win".
It is not Westwood's first anti-fracking protest she marched at a proposed drilling site in West Sussex, England in August last year.
