Supermarkets have been criticised for slashing the prices on lager.
The Campagin for Real Ale (CAMRA) found Fosters and Carlsberg was being sold for just 54p at Christmas, whilst the most expensive water was 49p.
CAMRA have called for urgent action to prevent "irresponsible alcohol pricing promotions that serve to exacerbrate the problem of binge drinking."
CAMRA Chief Executive Mike Benner said: "The ridiculous practice of the major supermarkets selling beloe cost for alcohol to out-price easch other is reckless, irresponsible and dangerous."
