'Apex Legends' have had to disabled a new Quit Penalty feature after launching it too early.
Developer Respawn has tried to combat the issue of opponents leaving a match early by penalising anyone who goes MIA during a game, but the company accidentally set it live before it was ready and was forced to quickly disable it.
Community manager Jay Frenchette confirmed on the 'Apex Legends' subreddit that the studio has been working on the feature.
He added: "It wasn't our intention or plan to have it go live with the [April 4] update."
Jay explained the penalty turned on early because of a piece of missing script, and the company has fixed it in order to disable the penalty.
There isn't an estimated date for when it will be officially released - or even if it will still be rolled out.
He added: "We updated the script, tested with QA and it's now disabled for all platforms. We don't have an ETA for if or when this would come out for real. Apologies for the confusion."
