Ubisoft have announced 'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' will be released on October 5, 2018.
Having already teased a five-second trailer of the latest instalment in the historical action-adventure franchise on Twitter, the game developer has now unveiled further details of the highly anticipated title.
As previously speculated, 'Odyssey' is set in ancient Greece. More specifically, action takes place around around 431 BC, in the middle of the Peloponnesian War, and prominent historical figures, including the philosopher Socrates and 'Father of Medicine' Hippocrates, will feature.
Players will take on the role of a mercenary battling Athenians and Spartans but not aligned to either side.
Users can choose between a male of female character - Alexios of Kassandra. Both will have identical stories, but have different forms and voices.
'Assassin's Creed Odyssey' will be released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The original 'Assassin's Creed' was released in 2007 and has gone onto become a hugely successful franchise, available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac and Nintendo Wii U and DS.
In 2016, Michael Fassbender starred in a movie adaptation of the computer game and it is also in the process of being adapted into an anime TV series.
