The hotly-anticipated title's lead quest designer Paweł Sasko has revealed there will be a number of options for the backstory of the playable characters, which are Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid.

He told VG24/7: "The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths.

"You can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid.

"Each of that Lifepaths has a different starting location and story background that are strongly connected with the origin story."

It was recently confirmed that Keanu Reeves will star in the game.

The Hollywood star made a surprise appearance during Microsoft's Xbox briefing at E3 to reveal his involvement in the title as he announced it will be released on April 16, 2020.

Surprising the crowd at the press conference, he said: "Cyberpunk! The feeling of being there, of walking the streets of the future is really going to be breathtaking."

The 54-year-old actor will play "legendary rockerboy" Johnny Silverhand, who has been described as a key character in the game.

As well as lending his voice and likeness to CD Project Red's game - set to be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC - he has also provided full body motion capture work for the exciting new role.

Fans can now pre-order 'Cyberpunk 2077' ahead of its release in 2020, and the Collector's Edition has been unveiled to the world.

As well as the game, customers will also get a hardcover art book, a steelbook case and a 25cm statue of protagonist V.

Quest Director, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, teased big things from the first-person RPG title and explained how it differs from rival game 'The Witcher' because it has "a non-linear character".

He previously said: "We still have the elements that have appeared in previous games. As I mentioned before, we have decisions, consequences, good characters, etc.

"I think the new thing in this project and that takes it to the next level is the non-linearity of the gameplay, which we will realise when we play through the missions.

"Which means there are many ways to complete missions based on how you've created your character, tools you use, etc."
