'Dead or Alive 6' has been pushed back by two weeks.
The Koei Tecmo title was due to be released on February 15, 2019, but it will now be made available on Steam, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on March 1.
The Japanese fight game's producer-and-director, Yohei Shimbori, said this was due to the team wanting to "further polish its balance and gameplay".
In a statement published on the game's official Twitter account, he wrote: "The title's development is already near complete; however, we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay and expressivity.
"In return for your patience, we commit to giving you the best Dead or Alive gaming experience.
"I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of DEAD OR ALIVE 6. (sic)"
A plot for the long-awaited follow-up to 2012's 'Dead or Alive 5' reads: "Following in events in 'Dead or Alive 5', Kasumi retires from her ninja clan and secretly resided in a mountain village, but the world is about to be threatened by a new sinister plan."
