Gayorzea has reflected on creating "something really special" as the organisation celebrated international Pride month.
The group - which was created as a "safe haven" for members of the LGBTQ community who play 'Final Fantasy XIV' and is owned by online user Lethys - has aimed to provide "a little reprieve" from oppression, and give gamers a place they can connect with people all around the world.
The founder told BANG Showbiz: "Gayorzea exists to be a safe haven away from the animosity. It is such a diverse community and has members from all around the world.
"It is a place where people that suffer real hardship and physical torment in their countries for just being who they are can seek a little reprieve.
"So if nothing else for international Pride month, we're not just reflecting on how we can be proud to be who we are, we're also celebrating that we can create something really special... something that's welcoming, inclusive and fun for everyone, regardless of who they are.
"Gayorzea places itself in the business of bringing people together and is a fully fledged LGBTQ community for 'FFXIV' players."
In December last year, gaming chat app Discord granted Gayorzea - a play on virtual land of Eorzea from the RPG title - official partnership.
The organisation continues to work on providing support for those in need.
The founder added: "Obviously, we all really love playing 'Final Fantasy XIV' together, and our main goal is to make it easier to share experiences and group up with other like-minded players but we have channels for peer support and advice on any subject, whether it's questioning gender identity or sexuality, relationship matters, mental health topics and sexual health too.
"We also really love to encourage creativity within the community, we're in the process of creating the first issue of our magazine which will celebrate our artists, writers and streamers, and we also hold competitions and giveaways."
