'Gears 5' will receive major content updates every three months.
The Coalition has announced Operations which will provide a free update with new modes and maps added to the title.
New characters will also be available to buy and earn through play, Operations will also see Gears 5's Tour of Duty battle pass updated.
The news comes after Dave Bautista was confirmed as a playable character.
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star will appear in the upcoming Xbox One and PC shooter using his WWE ring name Batista as part of a collaboration between Microsoft and the sports entertainment giant.
The 50-year-old actor's arrival in the video game franchise will coincide with WWE's 'Clash of Champions' showcase on September 15, with his character able to be unlocked through either version of the game on October 28.
Meanwhile, 'Gears of War' series director Rod Fergusson revealed Bautista has recorded over 700 lines of dialogue for the title.
He also revealed the idea for the crossover came with the "fantasy" of seeing the wrestling turned blockbuster star in the armour worn by Marcus Fenix.
He explained: "We started with the fantasy of 'Batista as Marcus,' putting Batista into Marcus' armour, and starting with Marcus' script.
"Then we added elements of 'The Animal' Batista into his voice performance and onto his look by adding his signature Hollywood shades to his character.
"Batista was great in the booth and I can't wait for 'Gears' and Batista fans alike to stomp some Swarm as The Animal."
