Green Day are set to make a game-related announcement at the 2019 Game Awards on Friday (13.12.19).
The US pop punk trio - comprised of Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt - have been confirmed as attendees by producer and creator of the ceremony, Geoff Keighley, who teased that the 'American Idiot' hitmakers have a "really awesome video game announcement they'll be making."
The game 'Green Day: Rock Band', which was developed by Harmonix, published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts, came out in 2010 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
The title was the fifth major console release in the 'Rock Band' music video game series, which sees players simulate the playing of rock music by using controllers shaped like musical instruments.
It followed 'The Beatles: Rock Band', which was the fourth high-selling game across all platforms in its first week of release in the UK.
Meanwhile, CHVRCHES are also taking part in The Game Awards, as they are promoting their titular 'Death Stranding' track.
