Square Enix has officially announced 'Marvel's Avengers' will be released in spring 2020.
The highly anticipated game - which has been confirmed during the company's E3 festivities- will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on May 15, 2020.
The title was unveiled with a stunning trailer made up of in game footage, and fans will get to play as the likes of Captain America, The Hulk, Black Widow and Thor.
There will also be a big focus on online multiplayer, and players have been given a lot of details about the project.
The game takes place in a world where the titular superhero team have been outlawed after an accident, but they reunite after the rise of a significant threat.
A tweet on the official Twitter account reads: "We are excited to unveil Marvel's Avengers, an epic action-adventure game that combines cinematic storytelling with single-player & co-operative gameplay, developed by Crystal Dynamics in collaboration with Eidos Montréal, Nixxes Software, & Crystal Northwest.
"Master extraordinary abilities, customise a growing roster of Heroes, assemble into teams of up to four players, & defend the Earth from escalating threats."
Meanwhile, the 'Marvel's Avengers' story and characters will exist in their own world, rather than sharing details with the Marvel Cinematic Universe or comic books.
In addition to the release date, it was also revealed there will be a beta test on the PlayStation 4 - which will require a pre-order to access - while other platforms will get later access after the PS4.
