Take-Two has promised more details on its mystery 2K project.

The company's studio has the gaming world buzzing over a secret upcoming title, which is yet to be announced but will be part of one of the brand's most popular franchises.

Speaking in Take-Two's earnings report, the firm's president Karl Slatoff said: "The unannounced title from one of 2K's biggest and most beloved franchise remains on track for lunch during fiscal 2020. 2K will have more to share in the coming months."

Meanwhile, chairman and chief executive officer Strauss Zelneck also discussed the future project and confirmed it is "very much on track" for its release during the next fiscal year, which runs from April 2019 through March 2020.

He added: "In terms of the unannounced 2k title, that is very much on track. And we expect it to stay on track and we have very high expectations."

There has been a lot of speculation about the title, with one possibility being that it could be 'Borderlands 3', with a new game in the series currently in development.

There have also been reports that a new 'BioShock' game is being worked on, which would also be an option.

Although there is still a chance the delayed game - which was originally slated for the 2019 fiscal year - could be something entirely different, the fact that its confirmed to be a franchise installment makes that unlikely.
