PlayStation 4 was the best-selling video games console of 2018, new figures have confirmed.
The popular console has, overall, sold more than 94 million units, even though Nintendo managed the impressive achievement of outselling the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One during December in the US.
During the whole calendar year, the PlayStation 4 sold as many as 17.7 million units, as compared to 17.4 million for the much-discussed Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft, for its part, hasn't released official figures for the Xbox One - which makes the overall picture a little bit unclear.
Last month, meanwhile, Sony revealed details of its ambitious plan to expand PlayStation Now.
The world-renowned tech firm confirmed that its cloud game streaming service - which is available on PlayStation 4 and Windows PCs - is heading to Spain, Italy, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden.
The much-anticipated roll-out is scheduled for later this year - although the company has not yet announced a specific date.
Sony revealed plans to host regional beta testing in February, with the service already firmly established as one of the best cloud gaming services on the market.
