Respawn Entertainment's boss will join EA's DICE LA as "head coach".
Vince Zampella - whose company is behind the likes of 'Apex Legends' and 'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order' - has taken on an expanded role with the Los Angeles support studio which has worked behind the scenes for the last six years on titles from the likes of developer DICE and other studios under the EA umbrella.
He told the LA Times: "We want to give it a new image. We want people to say, 'this is a destination you can go and make new content'.
"I think they've kind of gotten the branding that they are the support studio for DICE Stockholm.
"I think rebranding is important for showing people, 'Hey! Come work here. We're going to do some amazing things.' "
To date, the studio - which formed from Danger Close Games - is yet to release a game of its own.
Its predecessor - formerly known as EA Los Angeles - was the publisher's main studio behind the 'Medal of Honour' franchise.
However, now Zampella is set to help reshape the company back into a team creating its own titles.
Meanwhile, he will still continue with his role overseeing Respawn.
He stressed: "[DICE LA will be] separate from DICE Stockholm and separate from Respawn."
