'Shadow of the Tomb Raider' will be released on September 14.
Square Enix has put recent speculation to bed by confirming the release date for the next game in the series as well as its name, and also revealing it will drop on Xbox One, PS4, and PC at the same time.
The gaming giants released a 20-second trailer which featured some gameplay as well as the release date at the end above the icons of the two consoles alongside the PC and Steam signs.
Square Enix also teased fans they can expect a "full reveal" about the hotly-anticipated title on April 27.
The action-adventure gaming franchise features English archaeologist Lara Croft - who is played by Alicia Vikander in the latest 'Tomb Raider' movie and previously played by Angelina Jolie - who travels around the world in search of precious artefacts.
Square Enix have promised fans the title will be Lara's "defining moment".
They wrote on Twitter: "Experience Lara Croft's defining moment as she becomes the Tomb Raider. Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be revealed April 27th. Available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 14th, 2018. (sic)"
'Tomb Raider' turned 20 years old in 2016 - following the first game's release on Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Microsoft Windows, Macintosh and MS-DOS in 1996 - and Square Enix celebrated the milestone with a charity fundraiser.
Ron Rosenberg, co-head of studio at Crystal Dynamics just months beforehand: "Since its introduction, 'Tomb Raider' has held a significant place in video game history, and further cements that with this milestone.
"We look forward to celebrating with fans, and honouring the iconic Lara Croft with special events, retrospectives, giveaways and other surprises throughout this year of 'Tomb Raider'."
