M. Shadows has joked that his wife thinks his character in 'Call of Duty - Operation Apocalypse Z' is "better looking" than him.
The Avenged Sevenfold frontman has his own refreshed playable character in the recently released update to 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4' and he's quipped that his spouse Valary DiBenedetto prefers the video game version of her husband.
Speaking in a video to promote the game on the heavy metal band's official YouTube channel, he laughed: "When my wife saw the character, I think I could tell she thought the character was a little bit better looking than I am in real life.
"So that kind of hurt my feelings a little bit.
"I wasn't sure if they were going to use the model from 'Black Ops 2'.
"But I was hoping they were going to do an upgrade and remodel.
"I feel like the technology's better, so I was excited when I leaned I was going to go down and redo motion capture."
The 'Nightmare' hitmaker - who with his band has supplied music to all of the 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' games, including 'Not Ready To Die' ('Call Of Duty: Black Ops'), 'Carry On' ('Call Of Duty: Black Ops II)', 'Jade Helm' ('Call Of Duty: Black Ops III') and most recently 'Mad Hatter' ('Call of Duty: Black Ops 4') - made his voice acting debut for the game.
He said: "I was able to capture my own personality within the character and it's been a total trip."
'Operation Apocalypse Z' is currently available on the PlayStation 4 and is coming to other consoles in the future.
