A petition to get 'Scooby Doo' character Shaggy to feature in 'Mortal Kombat 11' has received over 300,000 signatures.
A campaign was launched on Change.org after a series of memes of the children's cartoon character went viral on social media, claiming he was an all-powerful entity.
But despite the petition, Kombat Kast manager Tyler Lansdown said Shaggy won't be appearing in the game after all.
He said: "Shaggy will never appear in 'Mortal Kombat'. Dead meme."
However, they did reveal the next character coming to the game will be a female, with an announcement set to be made next week.
Last month, Warner Bros. released the trailer for the forthcoming title, which set the stage for an epic adventure.
The game features an original music track by 21 Savage, the multi-platinum selling rap star.
Savage's track, titled 'Immortal', overlays scenes of a battle between Dark Raiden and Scorpion, two of the game's most iconic characters.
David Haddad, the President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, explained that the game will give players "more creative control".
He continued: "This game showcases NetherRealm Studios' extensive talent to innovate and create epic experiences for the Mortal Kombat fans and new players alike."
And Ed Boon, the Creative Director of NetherRealm Studios, revealed he was pleased to be able to showcase some of what his team has been working on.
He said: "It's exciting to finally announce 'Mortal Kombat 11' and showcase what the team has been working on.
"Our Custom Character Variation System opens up an infinite amount of options for players to personalise their favourite fighters. We can't wait until January when we'll be showing more of the game."
'Mortal Kombat 11' arrives on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on April 23.
