Sony has announced plans to host an event centred around PlayStation 5 on June 4.
The gaming giant has confirmed that the much-anticipated event will run for just over an hour, with fans set to be given a glimpse of new PS5 games.
PlayStation boss Jim Ryan wrote in a blog post: "The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe.
"Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware."
He also insisted that the event will only scratch the surface of the PlayStation 5's potential.
He said: "[R]est assured, after next week's showcase, we will still have much to share with you."
Meanwhile, Sony recently teased that PlayStation 5 will be "approximately 100 times faster" than its predecessor.
The company said in an official document: "In order to further enhance the sense of immersion in games, we expect to improve not just the resolution, but the speed of games.
"For example, through a custom-designed high-speed SSD, we plan to realise game data processing speeds that are approximately 100 times faster than PS4.
"Game load times should be much shorter, and players should be able to move through immense game worlds in almost an instant."
