The video game series' composer Stewart Copeland - who played drums for The Police - will return for the revamped title, but gamers will be in control of how much nostalgia they really want.

According to Gamespot, developer Toys For Bob confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con that Copeland would be back to remaster the soundtraack, but there will be a choice to switch between the new and original versions.

A new song 'Tiger Train' will also feature, and it's said it channels the spirit of the beloved franchise.

Copeland said: "Creating new music for the 'Spyro Reignited Trilogy' has been incredibly fun and nostalgic for me. Seeing how the fans loved the original series and soundtrack was a very heart-warming experience 20 years ago, and being able to revisit that fun with the new game has brought things full circle."

The upcoming remake - which will be released on September 21 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One - will see 'Spyro the Dragon', 'Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage' and 'Spyro: Year of the Dragon' given high-res graphics and artwork.

While the gameplay and level design will stay true to the original titles, the visuals will give it a modern twist.
