At the very end of their Nintendo Direct presentation the Japanese game makers confirmed the release of the as-yet-untitled 'Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros' for 2018.

The teaser trailer reveals two inklings from 'Splatoon 2' coming face-to-face with a very ominous looking Mario and 'Legend of Zelda' hero Link.

'Super Smash Bros' completely stole the show among the preview footage of upcoming games for the Switch and the 3DS this year.

Other big news included the revelation of details about 'Mario Tennis Aces' on Switch, which will allow you to choose between more than 15 playable characters including Donkey Kong.

Nintendo also unveiled footage for a string of other games including a single-player expansion for 'Splatoon 2' , 'Undertale', and 'Dark Souls Remastered'.

The broadcast also confirmed the rumours that the 'Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy' has been remastered for the Switch.

AThe N. Sane Trilogy was the "No. 1 top-selling remastered collection in PS4 history" according to Activision.

Nintendo is set to launch the Switch paid online service in September, with users paying an annual subscription to use the online multiplayer platform.
