Balenciaga won't hold a traditional fashion show for Alexander Wang's debut.
The designer - who replaced Nicolas Ghesquiere as creative director of the fashion house last year - will unveil his first collection for the brand in an "intimate" presentation at Paris Fashion Week on February 28.
The French fashion house told WWD that it considered Alexander's first collection an "introductory season" and would show the designs "in an intimate atmosphere" and a "salon-style format".
It is thought the presentation will be held in front of a smaller crowd with models wearing the new pieces.
Balenciaga has traditionally held its fashion shows during Paris Fashion Week at the Crillon hotel or at its showroom on Rue Cassette.
It was previously reported Balenciaga had hoped to tone down the "elitist, couture-like" approach of Alexander's predecessor and open up the brand to a wider audience.
The 29-year-old American designer will continue to run his self-titled fashion house as a separate entity from Balenciaga. The Alexander Wang label - which grew popularity for its edgy t-shirts and studded handbags - launched its autumn/winter collection at New York Fashion Week last weekend.
