Marc Jacobs showed off his vintage-inspired Marc by Marc Jacobs collection yesterday (11.02.13).
The designer - who was forced to delay his high-end label show because of delays in getting fabrics and accessories through customs - presented his more affordable line's autumn/winter 2013/2014 collection at New York Fashion Week where a 70s vibe was very apparent.
He sent models down the runway in loud prints, red-wine colours, wool pants and tasered hair.
He also presented his latest range of handbags for the line, offering structure, classic hues and silhouettes while the large satchels gave the accessories presentation a 40s feel.
As well as being stylish, the satchel collection is also very practical as they could easily be used for the office or for travel by train, plane or car.
Because of the delay the Marc Jacobs show will now take place in the new late Thursday evening (14.02.13) time slot on the last day of NYFW, but many editors will have already left the city for London Fashion Week, which starts the next day.
Marc Jacobs International president Robert Duffy said: "Marc and I are extremely sorry for this inconvenience. We just want to have the best show possible and show all the products that our design team has been working on so hard for the last six months. We completely understand if people have to get on a plane to go to London. We're not expecting people to change those plans or other plans just for us. We are live streaming the show. Still, [and] we recognise the significant inconvenience."
