Freida Pinto has revealed that she was hugely influenced by Charlize Theron and her performance in Monster.
Theron picked up a Best Actress Oscar as serial killer Aileen Wuornos and her turn stunned a young Pinto.
Speaking to Parade the actress said: "In terms of wanting to do acting professionally, I think back to Charlize Theron when she did Monster. I was like, 'Wow'.
"Someone as gorgeous as that to go into a direction completely opposite and transform herself into something - as the film says, monster - and to have heart in it, I think it was fantastic and a brilliant job done."
Pinto returned to the big screen last week in Tarsem Singh's latest movie Immortals, which currently tops both the UK and U.S. box office.
She also enjoyed box office success and critical success earlier this year when she joined an all star cast in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
