Pippa Middleton could be named as an official ambassador for next year's London Olympics.

Pippa does have a lot of common sense and she's passionate about sport. Her advisers have been talking the Olympics committee Locog and the British Olympic Association to work out what role she can play next year.

The younger sister of Britain's Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly entered into talks with two Olympic bodies through a PR company to promote fitness and pay visits to youth sports groups in the buildup to the 2012 games.

A source told The Sunday Times: "Pippa does have a lot of common sense and she's passionate about sport. Her advisers have been talking the Olympics committee Locog and the British Olympic Association to work out what role she can play next year."

Duchess Catherine, her husband Prince William and brother-in-law Prince Harry have already been named as Olympics ambassadors.

The source added: "Obviously her sister will be involved and Pippa is keen to play a part too. Nothing has been signed yet but she has been getting advice from a discreet PR firm, who are working out which steps to take."

Speaking about Catherine, William and Harry's role recently, a royal aide recently said: "The duchess has always been a keen sportswoman and is, like everyone, greatly looking forward to the Olympics being held in this country.

"The royal family has always had a connection with the Olympic movement and this is just taking that one step further. All three are very excited about what next year will bring."

This is Catherine's first official role since joining the royal family although she is yet to decide which sporting projects to endorse.
