Britain's Royal Family will exchange novelty presents on Christmas Eve (24.12.11).
When you already have everything expensive gifts don't mean much so they prefer something which makes them laugh or a practical gadget.
The long held tradition of gifting each other cheap presents has previously seen Prince Harry present his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth with a plastic shower hat with 'Ain't life a b***h!' on it and Princess Anne give her brother Prince Charles a padded toilet seat.
A former servant told the Daily Express: "When you already have everything expensive gifts don't mean much so they prefer something which makes them laugh or a practical gadget."
Other jokey gifts have included Mickey Mouse socks for Charles from his former wife Princess Diana, while Prince Philip loves receiving novelty can openers.
Although the family will enjoy a traditional festive turkey on Christmas Day (25.11.11), they are more adventurous when it comes to dessert.
Former royal chef Graham Newbould said: "The family are not keen on mince pies or Christmas pudding so I could be quite bold with, say, a pina colada mousse with a raspberry coulis."
