Jose Mourinho is reportedly facing stiff competition from Dutch giants Ajax in the race to sign Genk's Jamaica winger Leon Bailey.
The Manchester United boss attempted to sign the talented 19-year-old last season for Chelsea.
That deal collapsed when the west London outfit revealed it was their intention to loan the player out.
But the Manchester Evening News is reporting United's scouts have now been sent to run the rule by Mourinho.
Bailey made his debut for Genk last year and was named Young Player of the Year in Belgium.
Last week he was nominated for the Golden Boy award, alongside Marcus Rashford, Kelechi Iheanacho, Renato Sanches and Kingsley Coman.
The left-footed starlet is comfortable on either flank and has already scored five goals in 10 games this season.
United, however, have learned from Bailey's father that Ajax have lodged an interest and they are also dangling the carrot of immediate first-team football.
