West Ham utility man Michail Antonio is set to be rested for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash with Cheltenham, according to Slaven Bilic.
The England international underwent surgery on his hamstring over the summer and he was handed his first start in Saturday’s 3-2 loss at Southampton.
Bilic insists he doesn’t want to put too much pressure on the versatile winger and is likely to be restricted to a place on the bench for the second-round clash at Whaddon Road.
Summer signing Marko Arnautovic is unavailable following the straight red card he received at St Mary’s over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Winston Reid, Manuel Lanzini, Andy Carroll and Cheikhou Kouyate all remained sidelined, which could hand youngster Declan Rice another chance to start.
