Arsenal have reportedly started talks with Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck over new contracts.
The Gunners have several first-team players coming to the end of their current deals, with Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere becoming free agents in the summer as things stand.
Arsenal have failed in their attempts to get the trio to sign extensions and the club have to make a decision whether to sell in January, to ensure they get some money, or allow them to leave for nothing at the end of the campaign.
Lessons appear to have been learnt after the recent contract debacle, with reports suggesting the FA Cup holders have started negotiations with Ramsey and Welbeck over new deals.
Both players have just over 18 months left at the Emirates and, despite injuries blighting their progress, the duo will still be offered better terms in order to tie up their futures.
England international Theo Walcott and goalkeeper Petr Cech are also out of contract in the summer of 2019 and there are suggestions the pair will both enter talks over a new deal in the new year.
