Charlie Austin says Southampton will have to be on top of their game with a difficult run of games approaching.
Southampton, now under the guidance of Claude Puel, have started to find their rhythm in recent weeks and Sunday's 3-1 victory at home to Burnley has lifted them to eighth in the Premier League.
The Saints have won three and drawn one of their last four league outings whilst two good results in the Europa League have taken their unbeaten record across all competitions to seven.
Austin bagged a brace in the clash against the Clarets, his sixth and seventh goals from the last six appearances, and his return to form has coincided with an up-turn in results for the south coast outfit.
Puel's men do have a tricky run of games coming their way and the English striker, who is putting himself in the frame for an England call-up, knows the high standards need to be maintained.
"We are top half now and we have got tough fixtures coming up, City away, Chelsea at home and Inter Milan," Austin said. "The international break can hinder you but we have carried on from where we left off."
