A resurgent Mario Balotelli claims that boss Jurgen Klopp spoke to him just once during his time at Anfield before he was shipped out.
The 26-year-old was a disaster at the Reds, having been surprisingly purchased by Brendan Rodgers, and hardly ever found the back of the net before being loaned to AC Milan where he was equally ineffectual.
In the summer Liverpool cut their losses, with Balotelli resurfacing at Nice, and since then he has found his mojo, firing in six goals in five matches and has now revealed the full extent of how his relationship had soured with Klopp.
"Klopp doesn't know me, I spoke to him once, he told me to go somewhere else, work hard and then return," Balotelli told Sky Italia.
"So I said goodbye to them, and that we wouldn't be seeing each other again."
Despite his recent return to form there are unlikely to be any regrets at Anfield about his departure, either on or off the pitch.
