Crystal Palace striker Christian Beteke claims the Premier League Asia Trophy will only stand the squad in good stead for next season.
Palace are currently preparing for their opening game of the tournament when they will face Liverpool in Hong Kong on Wednesday.
Depending on that result, the Eagles will either face West Bromwich Albion or Leicester City next weekend.
Benteke believes time away together in Asia as a group is good for team bonding in the Palace camp and will only act as a positive ahead of next season under new manager Frank de Boer.
The Belgium striker was quoted by the Croydon Advertiser, saying: "To stay together for ten days or one week, its good just before the competition so we all know each other and we can stay really compact and stay together.
"I think it's the right time to do it because we've got a new manager with new staff. It's going to be a good test for us because it's going to be our first game and the manager wants to play in a certain way. It's going to be a good practice for us and to get ready for the Premier League."
