Liverpool expect Nathaniel Clyne to be fit for Monday's clash with Man Utd but Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum are big doubts.
Clyne and Lallana both pulled out of the England squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia over the past week and have been monitored by Liverpool's coaching staff instead.
Full-back Clyne has a minor knee injury but has made good progress during the international break and the signs are that the former Southampton man will be fine to feature against rivals United at Anfield on Monday.
Lallana, however, is unlikely to be ready in time for the resumption of the Premier League as the groin injury he suffered against Swansea is more serious.
Wijnaldum is another player struggling after he suffered a hamstring injury when playing for the Netherlands against France. The full extent of the problem has yet to be revealed but reports say he could be out for between two and four weeks at least, meaning he will definitely miss the showdown against Jose Mourinho's side.
