Arsenal and Chelsea are monitoring Luke Shaw’s future at Manchester United as the defender stalls on penning a new deal.
The full-back looked certain to be heading for the Old Trafford exit door at one point after coming in for some heavy criticism from boss Jose Mourinho, but he has since managed to turn things around.
A much-improved attitude in training has pleased the Portuguese, who recently revealed the player will be offered a new deal and could be a United player for many years to come.
However, as things stand, the former Southampton star has yet to put pen-to-paper and reports claim that both Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the situation with a view to making a summer swoop.
Much could depend on who United sign in the summer, with Mournho keen to finally land Tottenham left-back Danny Rose. If that is the case then Shaw’s chances of first-team football will be limited and Mourinho is likely to cash in.
Shaw would then face the difficult decision of who to join, while there has also been suggestions Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who knows him well from his time in charge of Southampton, could also enter the running.
