West Ham defender Jose Fonte has rubbished claims from the club’s co-owner David Sullivan regarding his move to the London Stadium.
Sullivan claimed his children "begged" him not to buy centre-back Fonte and winger Robert Snodgrass back in the last January transfer window.
Fonte has refused to rise to the comments and says he is just focused on working hard in training to return from a foot injury and then trying to help the Hammers climb up the Premier League table.
"It's ignorance," he said. "I’m not going to say anything. It's not going to change who I am. It's not going to change what I do. I'm going to keep being the good professional that I am.
"I am going to keep working hard to try and help my team-mates and the manager. What has been said has no effect on me or who I am."
