Armstrong tipped to extend Trotters stay

The striker joined the Trotters in the summer and scored his first goal for the club in the 2-1 win over Norwich prior to the international break.

Armstrong's current loan is set to expire in January but Madine is confident both the 20-year-old and the Magpies will decide to extend his temporary stay in Lancashire.

"I am hoping so," Madine told the Bolton News. "I know the gaffer (Phil Parkinson) will probably want him to and I know Adam will want to stay as well. Because we have a good bond as a team. I hope he stays. I am sure he will.

"Adam is a brilliant player. He is a great finisher and maybe not everyone has seen that yet. But we do see it every day in training. He hadn't scored for a few games but he's got off the mark now in the league so I think hell push on from there."
