Tony Pulis is looking to capitalise on his side's unbeaten start to the new season by bringing in high-quality reinforcements and Fenerbahce ace de Souza appears to fit the bill.

The 28-year-old, who can also play at right-back, has won three caps for Brazil, while he has also represented the likes of Porto, Sao Paulo and Gremio during his career.

Albion are believed to be looking to sign the Brazilian for around £10million, although the deal could hit a snag, as he does not hold an EU passport, which means the Baggies will have to secure a work permit if they want him to play in the Premier League.

With the transfer window due to slam shut this Thursday, Albion will have to move quickly if they want to secure the services of de Souza.
