Barnsley have signed teenage winger Harvey Barnes from Leicester on a season-long loan.

Barnes, 19, who won the Golden Boot award when England Under-21s triumphed at the Toulon Tournament earlier this summer, finished last season on loan at MK Dons.

"Harvey is a really talented young player and we are excited to see him come to Oakwell," Reds head coach Paul Heckingbottom told the club's official website.

"Once Harvey knew we were interested and we had a chat, he knew he wanted to come here to further develop himself following a really impressive run of games over the last year and I want to see him now continue that with us."

Barnes progressed through Leicester's academy and made his only first-team appearance for the club in their 5-0 Champions League defeat in Porto in December.

He scored six goals in 21 games last season for MK Dons, where he was voted young player of the year.
