Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez is hoping to see a number of new faces arrive after seeing his side lose at Manchester City.
The Magpies sit just two points above the drop zone following the 3-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, which again highlighted the need for new signings.
Sergio Aguero fired a hat-trick for the hosts, with Jacob Murphy briefly making it interesting at 2-1 with a breakaway goal for the Magpies, but they could not find an equaliser.
A new striker is top of Benitez's wanted list, but he is hoping the board deliver more than one new signing before the transfer window slams shut in 10 days.
"It's the Premier League and everyone is spending a lot of money," said Benitez. "That is why we expect something in this window. Hopefully we can see some new faces before the end of this window."
